Turkey Hunters
A downloadable game for Windows
TURKEY HUNTERS
Presenting Turkey Hunters, a not so competitive 3D first person shooter! Your goal? Grab 5 turkeys in the forest and bring them back home to save the Thanksgiving feast! Remember, it's all about speed—no fancy stuff, just quick, turkey-grabbing fun!
Head into the nearby forest, conveniently located right outside your house. You'll spot some turkeys that appear oblivious to your presence, like they don't even know you're there. Grab your new rifle, take 'em down in a matter of seconds, and gather them up. It's time to set the table for a feast!
Controls:
- W.AS.D - Movement
- Left Click - Shoot
- Backspace - Return to main menu.
NOTES
Please keep in mind while playing, this is not a full game, but rather a playable demo made for a short Game Jam with the theme of Thanksgiving. You should therefor expect bugs, issues including poor performance on older computers or high resolution monitors, inconsistencies and so on.
While many players can effortlessly complete the game and collect all 5 turkeys in under a minute, the true test arises when you delve into the realm of speedrunning. There isn't a predetermined path to finish the game; instead, you can create your own strategies and techniques to gather the 5 turkeys as quickly as possible.
I will most likely not update this game or address any of its bugs, as I do not have an interest in continuing its development. Instead, I'll be hard at work creating new and exciting games.
* EXPECT TO FIND BUGS AND PROBLEMS *

This game is bad, When I launched it it crashed. I lated mannaged to fix it but it was lagging on the same computer I use to play AAA games on max graphics.
I know that the game isn’t very polished and not great as it was made for a game jam in less than 24 hours, yet still the game is for the most part playable. I can’t do anything against the crash you first experienced as that’s out of my capabilities. The game is already configured to be able to run on all machines. The problem you were experiencing with insane lag is also a known problem which I’ve actually written a small post about how to fix if you are interested. https://www.speedrun.com/Turkey_Hunters/guides/z5mu3
Ensuring a smooth experience with high fps.
In some cases on either old hardware or high resolution screens, you may experience lag even if your computer is great and able to run other AAA games fine without problem. This does not have anything to do with the processing power of your computer, as most older computers can also play the game fine, but it is likely instead due to the fact that the game does not automatically configure the resolution based on your monitor as I was out of time. To fix this, please enter settings on your device, then find a section named ‘Display’, most likely located in the sidebar. Here, make sure to lower the resolution while still keeping it at a similar aspect ratio. This means if you have a 4K monitor and your PC is struggling to handle the game, try lowering it to 1920 by 1080.
During this, I am almost confident you will be able to run the game at a solid 60 fps. This is a known problem, yet I wasn’t able to fix it as I ran out of time and I don’t plan to update it in the near future as I am working on other, higher quality games.
The current speedrunning record goes to my friend placing an impressive time at just around 25 seconds!
I’m looking forward to seeing if you can beat it!
